John is an experienced tax accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business degree.
Before commencing a Bachelor of Business degree at UTS, John ran a successful transport business for over 10 years. John spent 12 years working in a chartered accounting firm in the Sydney CBD, where he gained experience in all facets of public practice accounting.
Following this was a 2 year engagement as CEO of a suburban Taxi co-operative where he was instrumental in refinancing and re-organising its operations, thereby ensuring its financial viability.
John brings to MJ Consulting his particular expertise and knowledge in the following areas:
- Co-operatives;
- Litigation Support;
- Income averaging for Special Professionals (i.e., entertainers, production associates, authors, professional sportsmen and inventors);
- Primary production, especially wine makers & grape growers; and
- Hospitality industry operations, especially hotels;
John’s interests also include football and golf. On Tuesday you can find John being tested by one of our local golf courses.
When he is studying tax and when he is not, John enjoys a "real" coffee. John cannot understand the current excitement about 100% Arabica coffee, preferring instead an Arabica/Robusta blend for a fuller bodied brew
